Thesis Show Branding.
Designed at the School of Visual Arts.
I was asked by Steven Heller & Lita Talarico, MFA Design co-chairs, to lead the graphics team and art-direct the branding of our final year show. I happily took on the extra task and developed the identity of the class of 2011 thesis show: Ideopolis.
The concept behind the branding was to take the audience on a journey. A journey throughout Ideopolis, stopping at each of our individual theses along the way. This concept gave us enough flexibility to create the visuals for a variety of platforms and media, from the wall map in the gallery space, to the short videos introducing each student presenting their thesis during the forum at the SVA theatre. These videos, and evidently the logo itself, are inspired by the flipping destination boards in airports and train stations.
In November 2011 the exhibition travelled to the renowned GGG (Ginza Graphic Gallery) in Tokyo. I was again in charge of the exhibition layout and design.
